Students from Tongala Primary School and St Patrick’s Primary Tongala on their bikes and scooters rode down Miller St from the police station and to the two schools.
Along with staff and parents, students were accompanied by Campaspe police youth specialist Leading Senior Constable Shane Roberts in a divvy van.
Each school had unique ways to extend the celebrations of Ride 2 School Day into the school grounds.
St Patrick’s students who participated in the morning ride were each rewarded with a raffle ticket, with good prizes up for grabs for the lucky winners.
A full bike-themed itinerary was in play at Tongala Primary, starting with a parade with prizes for best-dressed bike, a healthy breakfast and a police safety session.
Staff from both schools weren’t forgotten, with staff from St Patrick’s making their way to school on an 12-person bike and Tongala Primary staff taking turns clocking up kilometres to Cobram on a stationary bike.
Journalist Jemma Jones was there capturing the bike fun as it unfolded at Tongala Primary School.
