Unfortunately, Jawbone has been postponed until October to allow time for more entries. New dates have yet to be confirmed by the organisers.
The event will showcase riders navigating the challenging terrain with adrenaline-pumping twists and turns, a test of skill and endurance.
There will be an array of food trucks offering many options for attendees, along with live music from local band Straight Rhythm.
Spectator entry for the event is $10, and any rider, regardless of ability, may enter with categories ranging from juniors, women, and amateur races to expert, professional, and even quad bike categories.
Organiser Mitch Jones is excited about the event and the opportunity to bring cross-country motorbike racing to Australia.
“It’s an off-road motorbike event from a series that originated in the US, and we’ve brought it over to Australia to bring it to the Australian market and riders,” he said.
“It’s a slightly different format to what operates in Australia being a cross-country event.
“There are not really any races in Australia in that format at the moment, but many people enjoy cross-country racing, so it’s sort of trying to give the riders what they want.”
Mr Jones acknowledged Moulamein as an ideal spot for motorbike racing and its accessibility for interested participants.
He praised property owner Brad Vulcan for his willingness to provide land for the event and his enthusiasm in preparing everything for the weekend.
“We were aware that there were some tracks in Moulamein that have been used for racing in the past, and the property owner, Brad Vulcan, actually reached out to us and said that he’d love to host it,” he said.
“He’s done a lot of work behind the scenes to get the property sorted. It’s a good central location for everyone around Australia because it is a national series, so everyone has an opportunity to attend.”
