Despite the cancellation of the on-track action, a great crowd converged on Gunbower Racecourse on Saturday.
The heartbreak of the morning when Racing Victoria stewards made the decision to call the day’s racing off, gave way to a celebration in the afternoon.
With everything set-up for the race day, the club encouraged people to get trackside and soak up a phantom meeting.
Fashions on the Field delivered some magnificent fashions, while a number of clubs made the trek to celebrate their trips away.
Food vendors and free kids activities proved popular, while the punters gave the TAB and bookmakers ring a good workout.
Racing Victoria said it would discuss the possibility of rescheduling the meeting at a later date.
Riverine Herald photographer Aidan Briggs made the trip to Gunbower to capture the fun of what was still an enjoyable day.
