Goulburn Valley Health has resumed elective surgery in a limited capacity.
Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley made the announcement on Friday morning and on Friday afternoon GV Health confirmed services across the Goulburn Valley would follow suit.
GV Health executive director of clinical operations Donna Sherringham said services which were temporarily suspended at GV Health due to the COVID-19 response and Code Brown were set to progressively resume from Monday.
The resumption of services will take place in a staged approach dependant on workforce availability and the ongoing management of GV Health’s COVID-19 response.
She said GV Health would continue to prioritise essential critical services such as the emergency department, maternity category one elective surgery and emergency theatre, which may limit the capacity of elective surgery at category 2 level.
A GV Health spokesperson said people who had appointments postponed would be contacted by GV Health staff to reschedule those appointments as soon as practical.
