The focus of the federal election didn’t detract from a healthy showing at both the auction of 388 Ogilvie Ave (pictured) and 31 Chanter St, Moama which went under the hammer.
The Ogilvie Ave commercial property at the intersection of the Northern and Murray Valley Hwys, had been owned by one family for more than 50 years and attracted four bidders.
The successful bidder was a local family, with fellow bidders coming from Melbourne.
The Moama property ‘Myamee’ was built in the 1950s and has been the home of the Kirk family since the 1990s.
Sales agent Wayne Norwood said it was a great property for redevelopment due to its ideal location in town.
‘‘Situated close to the Moama Bowling Club with street frontage to Chanter and Simms streets, it attracted a large crowd with spirited bidding from three clients, achieving $336,000 under the hammer,’’ he said.
Mr Norwood said both properties had good local and Melbourne enquiries throughout the campaign producing competitive auctions, leading to them both achieving excellent results and exceeding their reserve prices.
