Anyone interested in performing, crewing or learning more is invited to attend an information night at 7pm Thursday, December 11, at the EMTC shed in Simmie St, Echuca.
The production will be led by director Tricia Deakin, who plans to embrace the iconic musical’s legacy of identity, transformation and joyful rebellion.
“This show has endured because it’s brave, it’s bold and it gives people permission to be unapologetically themselves,” she said.
“Our cast and crew are strictly 18 and over, ensuring everyone feels safe and confident engaging with the show’s mature themes.
“My focus is creating a rehearsal environment that is inclusive, respectful and uplifting for everyone involved.”
One of the most exciting creative choices will be the integration of a live band on stage.
“We’re bringing the musicians into the heart of the action to amplify the gritty rock energy that makes Rocky Horror so iconic,” Ms Deakin said.
“The result will be a thrilling fusion of vintage horror, glam rock and punk-inspired design.”
As The Rocky Horror Picture Show celebrates more than 50 years of global cult status, EMTC — also celebrating its 50th anniversary year — is excited to honour both histories with a production that promises nostalgia, attitude and fresh artistic energy in equal measure.
“We can’t wait to share that spirit with our community,” Ms Deakin said.
Open to performers aged 18 and up, the production will take to the stage at the Paramount in May 2026.
