On Saturday, February 6, Mr Wood oversaw a $1 million auction sale at 89 Hare St — a figure which was a first for Charles L King on the street.
Those who attended the day saw three bidders go head-to-head for the stunning three-bedroom home.
The winning bid was made by a local couple.
Mr Wood said the sale was a clear example of the high demand the twin towns have experienced since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We had over 70 people view the home in the lead-up to the day,” he said.
“It was fantastic to see such strong interest for this property. We even had two couples from Sydney who had travelled down to have an inspection.
“In recent weeks, we have been conducting a number of auctions online and all of those properties have been selling over the reserve price.
“It’s all going really well and all the purchasers we have been talking to have all taken to the process.
“The good news is a similar styled home to 89 Hare St, Echuca is now under construction at the same location.
“I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes.”
The home was designed and constructed by local developers Jim and Leslie Gray, who couldn’t be happier with how the sale went.
“We’re really proud of what we’ve been able to put together,” the couple said.
“Hare St is a great location because it is central to everything in Echuca and you don’t have to travel too far.
“We wish the new owners all the best with the property.”
