Board chair Stacy Williams presented its report of operations and annual report for the previous financial year, highlighting the hospital’s achievements.
Over the period, 4275 operations were performed, 1104 staff were employed, 373 babies were birthed and 4287 ambulances arrived at the emergency department.
There were 17,560 people admitted to the hospital, while 29,882 people attended the emergency department.
Major milestones for the hospital included $427,000 raised through a community campaign for mental health services, being a finalist in the Premier’s Medium Health Service Awards and hosting its third Research Symposium.
Accreditation was achieved for Glanville Village, NDIS, headspace and the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria, and dental manager Carmel Beck was named Employee of the Year in the Campaspe Murray Business Awards.
An ERH spokesperson said while the hospital’s extensive infrastructure was vital, its employees and volunteers were at its core.
“What makes it special is the community and the team who collaborate to provide excellent care for people, as close to their home as possible,” they said.
“As our community grows, ERH will continue to evolve to ensure that health services both meet community needs and expectations, and are delivered in alignment with its values.”
Significantly, the Horizon Committee was given a life governorship title at the meeting, an award that honours outstanding voluntary contributions.

Over the past 20 years, the committee has raised close to $1 million for the hospital though local, regional and interstate initiatives.
The Biggest Ever Blokes Lunch, Postie Bike Ride, Little Blue Towels and the Murray Meander are among the group’s most successful fundraising events.
In 2024, the committee also made a $100,000 donation to ERH’s Cancer and Wellness Centre, and a further donation of $100,000 to purchase much-needed equipment when the new hospital was built.
“The Horizon Committee’s long-standing relationship with ERH, ongoing fundraisers, strong community engagement, and substantial financial contributions have profoundly benefited ERH and the wider community,” the spokesperson said.
President Garet Stobaus and past president Dick Phillips received the award on behalf of the group, with many past and present members of the committee in attendance.
