Victorian Nationals leader and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh said residents across northern Victoria continued to pay some of the highest prices in the state for household electricity and gas.
“User data shows seven out of 10 households across Victoria can save money by switching energy offers, with typical annual savings of $330 on energy bills in the first year of switching,” Mr Walsh said.
“This is a worthwhile exercise for your long-term costs.”
Households that have previously claimed a $50 or $250 Power Saving Bonus will be eligible to apply for this new one-off payment until June 30, 2023.
Mr Walsh said the $250 Power Saving Bonus was separate to the Non-Mains Energy Concession, which remains open.
“Concession card holders who source non-mains energy for their heating, cooking and hot water can apply for this concession to help cover their yearly energy costs until December 31,” he said.
Although the quickest way to submit an application for the bonus is through the website, those who do not have access to the internet can receive assistance at the Echuca Neighbourhood House, on High St.
The team at ENH has direct access to the relevant portal in the Victorian Government system.
