VicRoads is resurfacing the southbound lanes of the Hume Fwy in Beveridge and Kalkallo between Gunns Gully Rd and the Donnybrook Rd off-ramp.
The works require a full closure of the southbound lanes of the Hume Fwy from the Wallan off-ramp through to Donnybrook Rd in Kalkallo.
The works are part of the Victorian Government’s recovery package in response to the October 2022 floods.
When
Crews will work continuously from 9pm Friday, April 19, to 5am Monday, April 22 and 9pm Friday, May 3, to 5am Monday, May 6.
Dates and times are subject to change due to weather conditions.
What to expect
The southbound lanes of the Hume Fwy will be fully closed from the Wallan off-ramp to Donnybrook Rd for each entire weekend of work.
Detours will be in place throughout the works for southbound traffic on the Northern Hwy and the Hume Fwy.
VicRoads asks motorists to take note of the specific impacts on their location and journey.
Motorists are asked to plan and allow for at least 25 minutes of additional travel time.
Alternative routes
Detours will be in place across each entire weekend of work.
Hume Fwy southbound traffic will exit the freeway at the Wallan off-ramp and turn east on to Wallan-Whittlesea Rd.
Traffic will follow this road east, turning south into Epping-Kilmore Rd, travelling south to where the road becomes Merriang Rd until turning west into Donnybrook Rd and rejoining the Hume Fwy at the Donnybrook Rd on-ramp at Kalkallo.
Plan ahead: Alternative routes and detours to avoid the roadworks on the Hume Fwy.
