Nicole spoke about her book What A Sh!t Show! and her journey, including the brutal reality of surviving two different cancers years apart.
Mayor Julia Cornwell McKean said overall, the 2026 luncheon was extremely positive.
“What a fantastic event,” she said.
“More than 100 women from across the Berrigan Shire came together at Club Tocumwal to celebrate strength, generosity and community spirit.
“With this year’s theme, ‘Give to Gain’, we honoured something rural women have always embodied, the quiet, constant giving that holds our communities together.
“It was inspiring to see the room filled with connection and conversation.
“It was a delight to hear from our guest speaker, Nicole Trimboli, whose storytelling added so much richness to the day.”
Council said it was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate the contributions of women across our Shire and rural communities.
Murrumbidgee Council’s International Women’s Day event will be held later this month, but is already booked out.
And it’s no wonder, given the special guest is internationally bestselling Australian author Rosalie Ham.

It will be held in Jerilderie, where Ms Ham grew up, on March 30.
“I was born and raised in this region, and it has shaped so much of my storytelling,” Ms Ham said.
“I look forward to celebrating International Women’s Day in my home community.”
Ms Ham’s forthcoming novel, Look After Your Feet, is due for release on March 31.
Showcasing her trademark sharp wit and engaging storytelling, it offers a darkly funny and heartfelt exploration of ageing.
Dedicated to feet, often underappreciated yet vital, the book blends humour, practical reflection and a celebration of the wisdom that comes with life, sometimes just a little too late.
Attendees are welcome to bring along copies of Ms Ham’s previous works for signing, which include Molly, The Dressmakers’ Secret and the much-loved novel, The Dressmaker.
Residents of Coleambally and Darlington Point with tickets can utilise a free bus service to attend.
