Lockington and District Bush Nursing Centre held a “Ladies Night Out” on Wednesday, May 3.

The night was held to increase awareness of rates for breast and cervical screening, due to numbers dropping off during COVID.
Murray PHN in conjunction with the Cancer Council Victoria provided some funding to assist with the project.

Organisers were pleased with the turnout as more than 100 ladies attended the free, fun and informative night.
The ladies were welcomed with a glass of bubbles and tables of grazing plates.
There was fun games and entertainment with the best dressed.

A raffle was held on the night with funds raised going to the cancer council.

“Some of the Murray PHN funding provided, we also used to train Priscilla on cervical screening so we can offer the service to our area ongoing on regular basis,” Lockington and District Bush Nursing Centre manager Kim McDonald said.
“We have had wonderful positive feedback from the night and already have people booked in for screening. That is the outcome we were looking for.”
