The first was on a property on the corner of the Murray Valley Hwy and Simmie St about 5pm on Thursday, while the other was at the intersection of Fraser Rd and Murray Valley Hwy at Koyuga on Friday morning.
Brigade captain Rob Amos said three appliances from Echuca and Echuca Village brigades attended Thursday's fire.
“The owner was doing the right thing by cutting his grass but something broke or a stone flicked up and created a spark,” he said.
“These things happen. It was only a small fire and by the time we got there, it was out.
“We put out a lot of appliances because we didn't know whether it was a big or small fire. Any fires we get, we want to hit hard and fast, so it's better to be safe than sorry.”
Less than 18 hours later, Echuca and Echuca Village brigades were called to the Koyuga fire.
“The owner was mowing on the roadside,” Mr Amos said.
“The fire was about 25x25m but the owner did the right thing and had a water pump with them, so he managed to stop it before we got there.”
Mr Amos said the incidents shouldn't stop other people from cleaning up their properties, but urged them to take care.
“We've had some windy days so try to abstain from mowing lawns and burning off when it's windy,” he said.
“Always check the weather first as there is a far less chance of fires getting out of control when there is no wind.”
