Batting first, Moama compiled 9/190 on its home pitch with three batsmen - Brad Jones (41), Jack Russell (43) and Will Devlin (42) - among the runs at the top of the order.
Tongala stuttered badly in the run chase, falling quickly to 5/36. In the space of one run, four wickets fell - Darin Ohlsen (13), Adam Nun (0), Daniel Coombs (11) and Elijah Gillie (0).
Anthony McMahon was the chief destroyer taking 4/16, while Jordan McGregor (2/12) and Jack Russell (2/9) also finished with impressive figures.
By the end of the day, Tongala was all out for 75 and Moama had usurped them at the top of the ladder.
● Echuca dealt reigning premier Rochester's title defence a massive blow with a hard-fought win at Moon Oval.
Echuca won the toss and elected to bowl first and it proved to be a wise decision.
Matt Hinks had both of Rochester's openers back in the sheds with only four runs on the board and the side was soon 3/15.
Charlie Ryan and Dylan Cuttirss steadied the ship somewhat, combining for a 45-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
But when Cuttriss was dismissed for 25, wickets started falling once again at regular interviews, before Rochester's innings came to an abrupt end on 126.
Rochester was not about to give up without a fight, though.
Captain Sean Williams took three wickets to reduce Echuca to 4/69.
Troy Kenny, batting at number six, was the rock of Echuca's innings, remaining unbeaten on 38 as wickets continue to fell around him.
When Simon Maddox fell for two, Echuca still needed 12 more runs with just three wickets in hand.
Fortunately, Kenny was still at the crease and with Rory Carlile (0no) guided Echuca to victory.
Williams was the best of the Rochester bowlers, snaring 3/16 which Angus Martin also claimed three wickets.
● Cooma maintained a spot in the top four, winning a nail-biter against Bamawm-Lockington United.
Batting first, Cooma racked up 188 on the back of a 105-run partnership from Liam Thorne (59) and Michael Hill (58).
In reply, BLU gave a good account of itself, finishing its allotted 45 overs on 8/181.
Nathan Neville led the way with a well compiled 64.
● In the other match, Kyabram Fire Brigade was too strong for Echuca South.
Jesse Barker (110) and Kaine Herbert (115no) put on 171 runs for the second wicket as the Flames amassed the imposing total of 2/291.
A Luke Thompson century meant South was always a chance to run down the total, but a five-wicket haul from Fire Brigade's Rob Salter saw the run chase end on 214.
