FOR the first time, Moama Police Station is welcoming a probationary constable to its ranks.NSW Police southern region recently welcomed 13 new probationary constables, following the latest attestation of 159 recruits at the Police Academy in Goulburn, three of which will join Murray River Police District.
Moama Police Station officer-in-charge Inspector Paul Huggett said this was an exciting first for Moama.“We are very pleased to have a brand new constable stationed at Moama for the first time in NSW Police history,” Insp Huggett said.“This officer will be assigned to a front line operational position and will make a real difference to the community.“I look forward to welcoming the newest member of our community.”
The constable vacancy for Mathoura Police Station has also been filled and a transfer date has been set.
“Mathoura, as always, is a priority for the Rivers cluster and officers from Deniliquin and Moama will continue to conduct regular patrols,” Insp Huggett said.
“Police again call upon the residents of Mathoura to continue to report all suspicious behaviour to Moama Police on 5482 0099, Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or ‘000’ for emergencies.”
