Men
Joel Watson put his new driver to the test and came out on top in A grade. Neil Moresco took the B grade honours and Geoff Kelly claimed C grade.
It is great to see former club champion Nigel Berryman back playing golf and he has not lost any of his ability as his super-pin win can attest.

Saturday, March 27:
Men
On Saturday, 180 golfers played the East course and despite fantastic scores from Jason Phelan, Chris Jennings and Ian Phillips it was Brendan Murphy who stole the show, holing out on the par three 16th and winning the super-pin.
Marty Baldwin showed son Angus there is still some life in the old dog, getting it to three under par at one stage of the round and easily taking care of Angus’ score.

B grade: 1st Jason Phelan (47 points); 2nd John Taylor (39); 3rd Gerry Allen (38).
C grade: 1st Ian Phillips (42 points); 2nd Tony Morgan (42); 3rd Ken Beales (39).
Ladies
In the ladies’ competition, 21 played with Lorraine Healey showing great form to defeat visitor Vanessa Saunders. Josie Kirkman won the super-pin.

Tuesday, March 30:
Men
With 186 playing the West course in ideal conditions, Gary Bennett had a day out winning the A grade event, which was a close tussle, and the super-pin. Lachlan Webb won B grade and John Forrest had the score of the day to win C grade from another John – Stone.

Echuca Back Nine
Friday, March 26
Players took part in a round of stableford. The results were:
Men's A grade: 1st: Danny Lavery (19 points); 2nd: Steve March (15).
Women's A grade: 1st: Ellen Banko (16 points); 2nd: Josie Kirkman (13 on countback).
Men's B grade: 1st: Dennis Jackman (17 points).
Women's NTP: 4th, 6th: Josie Kirkman.
Straightest drive: Men: Eric Qualmann; women: Lorna Alchin.
Lockington
Monday, March 29
The Lockington Golf Club recently held its re-scheduled annual general meeting, at which Matt Baulch was re-elected as president.
Other office bearers for the 2021 season are: Trav Mancer (vice-president), Mark Lyons (captain), Will Hardess (vice-captain), Kevin Humbert (treasurer), Grant Humbert (handicapper), Darren Carnie (secretary).
Phyl Macfarlane is the Ladies’ President for the 2021 season, ably supported by captain Pauline Humbert, secretary/treasurer Sue Harris and handicapper Annette Brereton.
The 2021 season will begin with a four-person ambrose event on Easter Saturday, April 3, with hit off from 11am. Social golfers are welcome.
Thanks to all those who have worked on the course and clubhouse to get the club ready for play.
After one irrigation and rain, there are encouraging signs of green around the fairways and members are looking forward to getting back on the course after a challenging 2020.
