The exhibit will showcase creations from the twin towns’ Aboriginal community including paintings, weaving, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery and sculptures.
There will be eye-catching artworks from Alice Baksh, including a series of paintings based around turtles which represent different family members who have had an influence in her life.
First-time exhibitor Nioka Briggs, who was born in Echuca, will bring her vibrant photography of the region to the walls of Foundry.
Keith Hearn’s intricately carved didgeridoos will also be on show, as will designs from Vicki Walker and Jan Muir, paintings from Rochelle Patten, plus much more.
Organiser and Yorta Yorta woman Denise Morgan-Bulled (pictured), whose basketry will also be on display, has worked alongside the Echuca Moama Arts Initiative for several years to bring the NAIDOC exhibition to the Foundry each year.
‘‘It allows us to bring a whole range of different artwork to the public. Some local artists do it professionally, but others simply create their artwork for pleasure,’’ she said.
‘‘Some of the creations will be on sale.’’
Opening night is tonight from 6pm at the Foundry Arts Space.
