MORE than $100,000 in funding has gone to the dogs and cats at Campaspe's Animal Shelter.
The centre received a $128,500 facelift under council's 2019-20 capital works project.
Acting regulatory and community services general manager Kate Lemon said the works were almost complete.
“So far, new shade sails over external exercise yards have been installed to protect animals from the weather, acoustic treatments to the indoor dog area to reduce noise have been done, a new reception counter with security improvements to the area has been added and a new dog yard/exercise area with synthetic grass is now complete,” she said.
A closure to keep birds out and upgrades to the ranger drop-off area are currently under way and are expected to be completed by the end of this month.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, anyone wanting to see any of the cats or dogs up for adoption or utilise other services will need to make an appointment before attending.
