Daniel Norris, 34, was expected to make a bail application when he appeared in Bendigo Magistrates Court via videolink on Tuesday.
However, the application was withdrawn and the matter was adjourned for a committal mention at Bendigo on September 4.
Josh Abbott, charged with negligently causing serious injury, failing to remain at the scene of a collision and render assistance and dangerous driving causing serious injury, will also appear for a committal mention on the same date.
Norris, charged with accessory after the fact, attempt to pervert the course of justice, perjury and destruction of evidence, has been in custody since August 6 after his arrest by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.
A motorcycle, allegedly ridden by Abbott, struck a male pedestrian on the Campaspe River walking track between McKenzie St and Campaspe Esplanade about 12.15am on March 10.
The 39-year-old male victim suffered head injuries and spent months in the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
He is now facing months of recovery in a rehabilitation centre.
