Among the crowd was local Parkinson’s advocate Jeanette Branch, who was one of eight event ambassadors.
Mrs Branch said taking part in the event again was an incredible experience.
“It was an amazing day with over 1700 people of all ages coming together to show their awareness of Parkinson’s disease,” she said.
“It’s just amazing watching on one side of the river and looking back at all the people that are coming on the other side of the river. It’s just incredible.
“All my friends are quite adamant about going back next year so we’re going to do it bigger and better next year.”

The event began at 9.30am with the announcement of the top group and individual fundraisers.
A group warm-up session followed the formalities, before walkers set off at 10.35am for their 2km or 4km walks.
Fight Parkinsons’ fundraising goal this year was $200,000, which it surpassed by more than $21,287.
Mrs Branch raised $4198 for the cause, putting her in the top 10 individual fundraisers.
Her team Junkie’s Team Echuca Moama also aided by fundraising an additional $726 locally.
Mrs Branch said that seeing how much money was raised through the event “showed that there is support out there for those living with Parkinson’s”.
