If successful, the party pledged it would allocate $20 million to the new building.
One Nation candidate for Murray Tom Weyrich said the dilapidated station was in dire need of replacement.
‘‘The Moama Police Station building has been in state of disrepair for 30 years,’’ he said.
‘‘Moama Police Station was condemned as a dwelling 25 years ago. It has serious structural issues and is desperate need of replacement.
‘‘It’s shocking – it has no ability to segregate prisoners; a problem which is highlighted at big-event weekends such as The Southern 80.’’
Mr Weyrich said Labor and the Coalition had promised a new police station for a long time, without results.
‘‘Our ballooning population dictates that we must have a new police station and an increase in police numbers,’’ he said. ‘‘Deniliquin has a new $20 million police station which is only half utilised, while Moama has been overlooked time and again by both major parties.
‘‘Our rapid rise in population and lack of police officers is of great concern to the community; we’ve been waiting for too long.’’
One Nation has also announced it will dedicate $10 million to the upgrade of Barham Hospital.
This will include a paediatrics department and extensive renovations to the hospital building.
