Push for basketball teams

ROCHESTER Basketball Association is looking to enter representative teams in basketball tournaments across northern Victoria during 2019/20.

President Mick Haisman has called on all players interested in representing the association to register for upcoming selections.

“We had seven teams last year and would love to see many of our players have this great opportunity to represent their association at a higher level,” he said.

The association is planning to attend tournaments in Echuca (end of September), Shepparton (December) and Bendigo (January) at a minimum, with consideration for Swan Hill (end of October), Wangaratta (November) and Wodonga (February).

“We currently have players from Lockington, Echuca, Elmore, Nanneella, Corop and Rochester,’’ Haisman said.

‘‘We welcome anyone interested in taking up basketball in the future to come along and have a conversation with us.’’

To be eligible, players need to be playing in season one 2019 or be registering for season two 2019.

Registrations close Sunday, July 21 at 11.59pm and need to be completed online at tinyurl.com/rbasquad2019
