The event put a spotlight on the delights of life in the regions, with food, live music, displays, petting zoos and pony rides on offer.
“We had a lot of positive feedback, particularly with the working sheepdog exhibition,” event co-ordinator Summer Sargent said.
“We thought it was a perfect opportunity, particularly for visiting city families who don’t get an opportunity to see livestock.”

Interestingly, Ms Sargent said the port’s data showed a high number of Echuca-Moama residents dropped into the fair.
With Campaspe Shire Council’s Emergency Services Expo running at the same time nearby in Hopwood Gardens, visitors were treated to a two-for-one event.

“The expo, I think, really added a bonus for our visitors, as well as our locals coming through,” Ms Sargent said.
“We thought it was a great success.”
Ideas on how to build on the fair’s first year success are already brewing, with the event expected to return annually.
