GV Veterans
Shepparton Golf Club hosted our 4BBB stableford event on Monday July 8.
The field of 89 golfers included representatives of our loyal sponsors and we thank them for their continued support.
We know the sponsor’s teams enjoyed the day because they carded some impressive scores.
The course was in top condition after receiving 10mm of rain overnight and into the morning, but the clouds disappeared on cue for card allocation and we were treated to a very pleasant day.
The temperature reached 15 and the westerly breeze did not penetrate below the tree canopy requiring the shedding of cardigans and jumpers early into the round.
Joel Watson and Rob Kilgour, (Rich River) recorded 45 points to collect first prize.
Bill Murphy (Mooroopna) and Neil Hutchins (Numurkah) combined to take out second place with 43 points from the Deniliquin pair of John Radeski and Neville Werner in third place.
Nearest the pin was contested on the 12th hole set at a “gentle” 130 m where John Radeski (Deniliquin) grabbed A-grade; Bill Hayward (Mooroopna) best in B-grade and Andrew Christy (Kialla) winner in C-grade.
Ball run down included: Darryl Sheridan, Mark Hegarty, Bernard O’Hare, David Fullager, Peter Mangan, Gavon Armstrong, Graeme Jolly, Peter Rooney, Maurice Webb, David Shiells, William Wright, Richard Farmer, Len Adams, Les Hall, Alan Williams, Graham Peat, Philip Jarvis, John Boruch, Keith Seeber, Brian Rosenrbock, William Green, John Trimble, Peter Lahiff, John Welsh, Tony Papallo and Neville Larson.
