Murray River Police District is hosting a charity lawn bowls event this Sunday, with proceeds to be donated to support Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group.
It will support the group’s aim to have more local people trained to offer mental health first aid.
The event will start with a barbecue lunch at the Deniliquin Bowling Club from noon, with bowls play to follow until about 4pm.
You can register as a team of four, or individually to be placed in a team.
Entry is $20 per person, which includes lunch.
Deniliquin Police Sergeant Morgan Hadjialexiou said while the charity bowls day is not new for the Murray River Police District, this is the first time it will be hosted in Deniliquin.
He encourages everyone to get on board, to make sure it’s a success.
“The last two years it’s been held in Mulwala, and we have a team from there registered to play already,” he said.
“This is a great opportunity for NSW Police members to get together with our emergency services friends, and with the community.
“We encourage service groups, businesses and community member to also get involved and support a worthy cause.”
Teams or players must be registered by this Friday. Your entry fee can be paid on the day.
Register by calling the club on 5881 1348, or email hadj1mor@police.nsw.gov.au.
