Ms Berryman said she found the apprenticeship when searching through social media one day.
“I’ve always had a passion for baking, so when I saw the apprenticeship being advertised on Facebook one day, I just thought it was something that really appealed to me,” she said.
“I thought that I may as well give it a try and I’m glad that I did because I’m absolutely loving it.”
The apprenticeship, which will go for about two and a half years, will involve practical and theoretical training.
“I haven’t started any of the theoretical work yet, I think we will start that in a few months time.”
Ms Berryman said in her apprentice she had learned to bake things she had not ever tried to make before.
“I’ve learned how to make pies and sausage rolls, which are things that I never thought I would learn to make in a million years,” she said.
“It’s been really interesting to try out different recipes and methods.”
Ms Berryman is looking forward to seeing what she will learn to bake next.
