Club members have been busy repairing and enhancing facilities at the wetlands following the stealing of tables, damaged seating, deteriorating plantings and worn boardwalk tiling.
The ongoing project has been a dedicated restoration effort, not only about fixing physical infrastructure, but to preserve the environmental integrity and public utility of the wetlands.

The importance of Rotary’s project cannot be overstated according to the club’s Meredith Miegel.
“Maintaining the wetlands in a safe and accessible condition ensures its continued use and enjoyment by all members of the community, including residents, school groups, and visitors,” Ms Miegel said.
“The site plays a crucial role in local environmental education and conservation, with support from the Federation Council, Landcare, local schools and other community organisations.”
The Corowa Rotary Club’s collaboration with the Corowa Men’s Shed adds another dimension to the project, with Shed members contributing to the construction of new seating and facilities.
These collective efforts underscore the community’s shared commitment to keeping the wetlands a vibrant and welcoming space for people and wildlife.
A cherished natural haven nestled in the heart of Corowa, Corowa Wetlands has long been a favourite destination for walkers, birdwatchers and tourists.
Recognised for its rich biodiversity and tranquil beauty, the wetlands offer a sanctuary for native plant species, birds, and frogs and for community members seeking a peaceful retreat.
