According to the Bureau of Meteorology’s report issued at 2.29pm on Tuesday, January 27, much of Victoria experienced maximum temperatures in the low to high 40s.
However, the heat is expected to ease from Wednesday to Sunday, with temperatures estimated to range from the mid-30s to low 40s across inland Victoria.
While the East Gippsland district is set to escape extreme heatwave conditions, severe intensity heatwave conditions will continue in some districts until later in the week.
Locations likely to be impacted include Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Echuca, Mildura, Maryborough, Ouyen, Shepparton, Swan Hill, Stawell and Wangaratta.
With severe heatwave warnings issued for the majority of northern Victoria, community members are encouraged to practise sun safety and stay up to date with warnings.
