On their way to a testing day at Winton Motor Raceway near Wangaratta, the team stopped by to greet motorheads and sign a few posters.
They also spoke about their experience in Supercars and opened up questions to the floor, although the crowd was, admittedly, a little shy.
Sunshine Coast boy Harri Jones commented on the bitter cold that had swept across northern Victoria over the week, which got a laugh from the crowd.
Mr Simpson said he was thankful the drivers made their way out to support the opening at Kuhle Rd.
