Tables and cups full for Coffee Shots

After more than a year of serving locals from their mobile van, Linda Riddell and Steve Papadatos have given Coffee Shots a permanent home in the heart of Shepparton.

The van — which started in October 2024 — is still going strong, with the shop being a home base where people can quickly and easily get their coffee fix.

“We didn't want to go down the way of a café,” Mr Papadatos said.

“We wanted something that's nice, quick and easy.

“A lot of places around here are businesses and offices that don’t have time to sit and wait 15 minutes for a coffee to take away.

“We pride ourselves on being quick, and the longest thing you're going to wait for is a toasted sandwich to get cooked.”

The store opened for business on Wednesday, January 7, but the signage went up on Monday, January 12, making it official.

The store has had nothing but good reviews from customers so far, including for its iced coffees, which are freshly made and served in a can.

“The shop’s been full nearly every day,” Mr Papadatos said.

“It’s a nice feeling when it’s full.”

The menu includes a variety of toasted sandwiches, sweet treats and Greek treats, adding to Shepparton’s multicultural food scene.

“I'm of Greek background, so we've done a couple of simple Greek dishes,” Mr Papadatos said.

“We have spanakopita, which is spinach in filo pastry with some cheese in it, and we do a rizogalo, which is Greek rice pudding with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.”

To give back to those that help the community, Coffee Shots is also giving a five per cent discount to all hospital staff, paramedics, police, teachers and educators until March 31.

You can find Coffee Shots at 240 Wyndham St, Shepparton between 6am and 2pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to 1pm on Saturdays.
