Three Little Birds host Tongala ball

Hosts with the most: Peter and Kristy Bird’s renovated stables hosted the Tongala Football Netball Club ball for the second successive year on Saturday night. The Birds remain heavily involved in the club through their three children, and the farm function centre is named after them. Photos: Rohan Aldous
Girls night out: Lucy Bird, daughter of the hosts, Chloe Carr and Emily Cox — all Tongala netballers — stepped out in style for the club function.
Having a ball: A-grade coach Paige Wade, star goaler Milly Brock, team manager Georgia Watt and Brock’s goaling partner, Abbey Nexhip, in the early part of celebrations after the club’s match against Numurkah on Saturday.
All dresed up: Liz Taverna and Eesha Clarke were among the first guests to arrive at the Birds’ Koyuga property for the annual Tongala ball.
From the backline: Corey Nexhip and Adam Lovison (left), the club’s two key defenders, with Bryce Denham, Tristan Kreymborg and Todd Vanroy.
Stepping out in style: Phoebe Phillips and Kyle Fitzgerald at the annual club ball.
Coach’s corner: Malcolm Hedges, Tongala senior coach Jordan Souter and star player Anthony Dennis enjoying the unbeaten start to the Murray league season.

A mini-tornado which destroyed a barn on Peter and Kristy Bird’s Koyuga property almost two years ago has created a business opportunity the pair plans to expand on in the warmer months.
