In the morning you can learn a range of digital literacy skills and how to effectively use online resources and apps to help plan your dream trip or even a weekend away, while the afternoon session will focus on scams.
The session includes techniques to improve online searches, artificial Intelligence (AI) basics, downloading and using apps, fact-checking and comparing information found online
As a bonus activity, the session will offer the opportunity use Virtual Reality to have a sneak peek at a location you plan to visit.
Don’t worry if you are not planning a trip, the skills learned during the session can be used every time you search online.
The sessions are supported by resources found on the BeConnected website.
Scams are not a new part of our lives, but they are increasing in frequency, and they are getting harder to recognise.
In the afternoon, learn tips for spotting scams, avoiding problems, and some information about what to do if you get scammed.
If you would like to learn tips that will help you spot a scam or improve your digital literacy skills, book into one, or both of the sessions at www.gvlibraries.com.au/events, or by calling the library on 1300 374 765, or email yarrawonga@gvlibraries.com.au
