Well, technically, his name is Daniel Thompson but come Friday, August 2 when he steps out onto the stage at Echuca Paramount he will become everything that is Mr Cash.
Thompson’s show, Back to San Quentin — 50 years on, celebrates the legendary album and the career of the man in black.
Especially during 1969 when, off the back of the success of Cash’s 1968 At Folsom Prison album, Cash recorded the second of his legendary prison albums at California’s notorious maximum security prison, San Quentin.
The Folsom album kick-started a golden era of Cash’s career but At San Quentin continued his meteoric rise to his place as a legendary figure and an icon of 20th century music.
Fifty years on, Thompson’s show features more than 35 hits including the great moments of the San Quentin album plus hits and favourites spanning Cash’s recording career.
After six national tours and having performed more than 175 shows, Thompson’s performance has become one of Australia’s premier tribute acts.
With powerhouse backing band, The Tennessee Express, and with more than 60,000 tickets sold Australia-wide, don’t miss your chance to see an unforgettable tribute.
