IT’S time to don a splash of pink and head down to the MV Mary Ann.
Last year’s smash hit Pink Tie Dinner is back for it’s second year, sailing the Murray River to raise vital funds for the McGrath Foundation.
And locals are encouraged to gather a group of friends together for a fun night out.
The inaugural dinner drew almost 100 people last year and organiser Kay Blakeley said she hoped for similar numbers the second time around.
‘‘We raised about $1600 last year at the Pink Tie Dinner and along with the other events we held throughout the year, ended up raising $16,000 all up in 2018,’’ she said.
‘‘The Mary Ann and RSL got right behind it, with the Mary Ann donating $10 for each ticket purchased back to us for the McGrath Foundation.’’
Having tragically lost her best friend to cancer 13 year ago, Ms Blakeley said it was a cause close to her heart.
‘‘We just want to keep doing whatever we can to raise more funds and awareness,’’ she said.
The Pink Tie Dinner will be held on Friday, March 1 from 6pm (departing at 6.30pm) to 9.30pm.
Tickets cost $65 and include a sunset cruise on the MV Mary Ann and a two-course dinner, with $10 per ticket donated to the McGrath Foundation.
There will also be raffles and lucky numbers.
The MV Mary Ann is moored at Riverboat Dock off Watson St, Echuca.
