A vast array of mobile steam engines will be on display, including a road-registered 1903 John Fowler steam traction engine, weighing 13 tonne, which was initially imported to Sydney docks from Leeds, United Kingdom.
The Echuca Vintage Machine Club will be on site with a collection of static steam engines, allowing you to see how these incredible machines were built and operated.
Engage in fascinating conversations with machine owners to uncover the stories behind these engines and their pivotal role in shaping the local area’s development.
The steam compound surrounds Rotary Park Oval, so you won’t be able to miss it.
All day Saturday and Sunday, the Clydesdale and Working Horse Showcase will be ploughing the fields and demonstrating the skills of horses and drivers in Rex’s paddock.
Discover trades, crafts, and techniques from yesteryear and the artisans who are keeping these skills alive at the steam revival.
Displays may include demonstrations of making aluminium castings and plaques, leather work and traditional hand signwriting.
The on-site forge will be fired up, and local blacksmiths will demonstrate their smithing skills, creating iron products.
Many of the lost trades will have their wares on sale, and there will be several market stalls with handmade and boutique items such as engineering tools, Aussie bush hats and giftware.
The Echuca and District Historic Vehicle Club is hosting a show and shine featuring a variety of vehicles from its members and guests, which includes a public choice award over the weekend, during which you can vote for your favourite vehicle on display.
In his Pitts Special S1T 200 hp beast, pilot Michael Jones will perform an aerobatics display at 11.45am on Saturday and Sunday.
Delight your little ones at the Kids’ Zone, located at the north end of the Rotary Park oval, featuring fun face painting, exciting bushcraft activities, and the adorable Billabong Ranch Animal Nursery.
The Campaspe Valley Miniature Railway Inc. will be running train rides from 10am to 3pm each day.
The Echuca Model Train Club will have its Model HO set running, featuring a special layout designed for the steam revival, allowing kids and those who are kids at heart to drive.
The Echuca 1st Scout Group will be running a display and activities in the oval, near the revival hub all weekend.
EMFM 104.7 will hold a live outside broadcast on Saturday from 10am to 1pm from the event.
Live music on the main stage on Saturday kicks off with the Echuca Federal band at 10am, followed by Lokki Acoustic at 12.30pm.
Both days, you will find Ryebuck near the scone kitchen area, playing bush tunes to get your toes tapping.
Each day from 11am, the American Hotel will host a licensed bar with local beers and wines at the south end of the Rotary Park Oval.
To eat along with the American Hotel’s Harry O’s American BBQ, you will be able to sample country camp cooking and food trucks, including the all-important coffee.
Kerry Hutchison and her crew have whipped up a couple of hundred scones, which the Lockington Pony Club will serve.
Moama Pizza has made stew and pumpkin soup, which will be served from the camp kitchen by the Bamawm Extension CFA.
Boost Juice, Tiamo Twin Flame Wood Fired Pizza, Twisted Vegies on a Stick, Central Victorian Baked Potatoes, Our Plain Wanderer Coffee, Let’s Do Coffee and snags and burgers cooked by the Echuca Moama and District Agricultural Show Society will offer gourmet delights.
On Sunday, the Clan McLeod Pipe band will march through the crowd from 10am and the main stage in the revival hub will host Zara Lindeman Duo from 10am, followed by Lukey Luke and the Juke Box from 12.30pm to 3pm.
Parking for the steam revival is available at the Rose St entrance and along Rose St, Crossen St and Campaspe Esplanade.
Overflow parking is available via the Northern Hwy gate exhibitor entrance.
Disabled parking spots are available at the Rose St entrance.
Friendly dogs on a short leash are welcome, but remember to pick up after your pooch.
The Echuca Moama Steam, Iron and Trades Revival is made possible by the support of event partner the Moama Bowling Club.
The event has been supported by the Murray River Council, Coolabah Turf, the Riverine Herald, Echuca Moama Tourism, Campaspe Shire Council, the American Hotel, Murray River Paddlesteamers Echuca, Haeusler’s John Deere, Echuca Paddlesteamers, Moama Pizza and Lashing by Bree.
The event runs all weekend, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, June 7 and 9am to 3pm on Sunday, June 8, at Rotary Park, Rose St, Echuca.
Daily entry to the steam revival costs $15 for adults, $10 for children aged seven-16, with children under six admitted free. A family ticket is available for $40, and weekend passes are also available for purchase.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate using cash or EFTPOS.
