You’ll see more action at Echuca Racing Club

ONE final ride for the Echuca Racing Club’s 2018/19 season will take place tomorrow.

The meeting is the most recent in a series of cards to be transferred from the Seymour Racing Club to Echuca. Racing Victoria announced on July 12 the meeting had been transferred to allow the Seymour track the opportunity to consolidate further, with a conservative approach favoured for the longer-term benefit of the track.

Both the Seymour Racing Club and RV remain confident that the track will be fit for racing on August 24 when Seymour is due to host its next meeting.

It provides the Echuca locals with one final opportunity to run on their home track before the new season.

The 10-race card — all with $35,000 of prize money on offer — will feature seven locally trained horses.

The Gwenda Johnstone-trained Flying Batya, in her third start since claiming victory at Echuca on April 7, will run against fellow local, the Cornish Gaskin-trained Left Jaybee Out, in the sixth race. Fellow Gaskin runners Mywordsaidthebird and Georgia’s Host will also be in action, along with the Daryl Archard-trained Court Painter, Zoeasy and Bonville.

The opening race is scheduled for 11.55am.
