Woman arrested over stabbing in Echuca

A WOMAN has been arrested and charged after a stabbing in Echuca on Sunday, January 10.

Detective Senior Constable Stuart Poulton of Campaspe criminal investigation unit said police and paramedics were called to a North St home about 2pm where they found a 32-year-old woman suffering four stab wounds to her body.

‘‘The injuries were not life-threatening,’’ Snr Constable Poulton said.

‘‘She received treatment at Echuca hospital and was released the same day.’’

A 21-year-old Echuca woman was arrested and charged with intentionally causing injury and assault with a weapon (knife).

She was bailed to appear at Echuca Magistrates Court on May 4, 2021.

The women are believed to be known to each other.

‘‘We’re not looking for anyone else in relation to this,’’ Det. Snr Constable Poulton said.
