Echuca police looking for burglar and car thief

POLICE are appealing for help to catch a burglar who broke into two Echuca homes and stole a ute.

Detective Senior Constable Troy Wickham of Campaspe Criminal Investigation Unit said a Stawell St property was broken into about 10.30pm last Tuesday, April 20.

Tools and other property were stolen, as well as a white Mazda Bravo ute.

‘‘The offender has then entered an adjoining property while the occupants were sleeping and stolen a phone and a small quantity of cash,’’ Det. Snr Constable Wickham said.

‘‘The car was found parked in Garden Crescent on Friday with some of the stolen items inside.

‘‘It was possibly parked there for several days before it was noticed. It was a 1994 model with a blue and silver canopy.’’

Det. Snr Constable Wickham is appealing for those who saw any suspicious activity in the area or the car to come forward.
