The Bombers season ended with a thud on Saturday after going down by 51 goals against a rampant White Hills outfit who look set for a premiership charge.
Despite finishing the year with just four wins, club secretary Grace Jones said the players should continue to hold their heads high.
"The girls have taken a step forward despite what the ladder might say," she said.
"Unfortunately they just missed a few opportunities in the big moments and it has ultimately cost them a chance of playing finals.
"But I'm sure they'll take those lessons into next year and make a move up the ladder.
"On paper they're an extremely talented outfit who just need to build some more chemistry."
Leitchy-Gunny's record of four wins, 12 losses and a draw saw them finish in seventh position, although they did have the best defensive record outside the top five.
"Our defenders had extremely good years," Jones said.
"Without them we probably we have struggled to stay competitive in games against some of the best teams in the competition."
A grade weren't the only side to see their season come to an end on Saturday with A reserve and B grade joining them on the sidelines.
In a big boost for the club, their under 15s and under 17s will feature in elimination finals against Huntly and Elmore respectively next weekend.
Meanwhile, B reserve will face off against regional rivals Lockington-Bamawm United.
