Nunn bowled 10 maidens in his 15.3 overs, finishing with figures of 5/34 as he silenced Cooma's top order, with Tongala dismissing the competition's front runners for just 98.
Matt and Darin Ohlsen combined in support of Nunn to dismiss the other three batsmen.
Cooma's Liam Thorne top scored with 29, the only player to pass 20.
The Blues would face 27 overs before the close of play, with unbeaten scores of 38 from Daniel Coombs and 30 from Jayden Tucker seeing Tongala to 1/72 at stumps.
A dominant victory for the Blues could see them take top spot on the ladder, but the performance on Saturday leaves Tongala with a very real opportunity of snatching an outright victory and locking up top spot when play resumes on Saturday.
¦DANIEL Kent has added another big score to his round two century as he helped guide Kyabram Fire Brigade to the biggest total of the round so far against Moama.
Kent hit 12 fours and a six en route to 80 off 128, while fellow top three batsmen Jesse Barker (61) and Robert Salter (74) added even more to the tally.
Fire Brigade's top three combined for 221 of their side's 6/317 at the close of play, putting the Flames in a strong position.
Three wickets from Leigh Haw was the best performer for Moama with the ball.
The Magpies batting line up are now in a tough position, and will need to have all guns blazing if they are to claim the result.
¦A RUN-a-ball 64 from James McPhee was the best showing of a good top order performance from BLU on Saturday afternoon against Echuca at Victoria Park.
Chris Smith (49) and Liam Hamilton (44) also made strong contribution but a lower order collapse - with the final six batsmen all scoring less than five including four ducks - meant BLU would have to settle for 205 for the day.
Rory Carlile cleaned up at the end of the innings to claim 3/3 off 2.5 overs in one of the best bowling performances of the round so far.
It leaves Echuca with a manageable target of 206 to chase on the second day of play, as both sides continue to battle for their second wins of the season.
¦OPENING batsman Josh Novoselek has top scored with 68 as Echuca South made their way to 9/191 against reigning premier Rochester.
The Swans are hunting their first win of the season, while Rochester are trying to get their season back on track.
Four wickets from Fraser Cleary and three from Dylan Cuttriss were the notable performances from Rochester.
