The Victorian Government's Get Active Kids program will provide grants of up to $200 for sporting equipment, uniforms and memberships.
The vouchers are available for children aged four to 18 who reside in Victoria, are named on a current Australian Government Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card and also named on a valid Australian Government Medicare Card.
Second-hand equipment and uniforms purchased that meet the eligibility criteria can be claimed as part of the program, in addition to new equipment and uniforms.
Community Sport Minister Ros Spence confirmed applications would open at 10 am with the first of 100,000 vouchers available.
“Every child deserves the chance to be active and healthy and these vouchers will help families to afford the sports their kids love to play,” she said.
“Sports clubs bring people together and create healthier, happier and more united communities — it’s fantastic this program will also provide them with a major boost.”
Applications for vouchers in round one of Get Active Kids will close on April 11.

Athletes shine on the track
MATHOURA youngsters are continuing to make their presence felt in Deniliquin Little Athletics and regional competitions.
Jemika Cooper recently broke a 20-year-old record in the Under 15 Girls’ high jump, leaping 1.47 m.
Connor Wilson has also performed well in the Under 12 Regional Championship in Wagga, finishing first in javelin and second in shot put with new personal bests in both events, and has automatically qualified for the Under 9 to Under 12 State Championships .
He also finished third in discus, and is still a chance to qualify for the Sydney carnival in this event.
Border Raiders earn another free pass
THE Moama Echuca Border Raiders are moving through to the next round of the FFA Cup.
The twin towns club moved on in the knockout competition after Barnstoneworth United forfeited the game between the two sides which had been scheduled for Saturday.
It is the second game the Border Raiders have missed out on playing in as many weeks following the forfeit by the Melbourne Lions on February 20.
Their next game in the tournament is expected to be known in the coming days.
Echuca under-16s fall in the decider
ECHUCA'S under-16 cricketers have fallen short of premiership success after going down to Kyabram Fire Brigade on Friday night.
The Flames were impressive in their 25 overs scoring 5-143 as three players retired not out.
Despite Kobyn James reaching 40 runs from 50 balls, Echuca was not able to reel the hosts in as they were all out for 119.
