The final fundraising tally from Echuca Football Netball Club’s FightMND round and wide-ranging community efforts has seen more than $55,000 raised.
With the support of Mooroopna Football Netball Club and businesses, the final amount came to rest on a remarkable $55,650, with beanie sales, raffles and donations contributing to the final tally.
“FightMND round is such a huge community event, and for Echuca Football Netball Club to be involved, we see that as our bit playing our role in the community,” Echuca president Ash Byrne said.
“The support of Echuca-Moama and surrounding districts is amazing in terms of supporting the FightMND project.
“They all did a magnificent job.
“Mooroopna had no hesitation in supporting the event.
“They sold beanies and participated in the day which was tremendous.
“It was a really positive achievement for the entire community.”
