It was a beautiful day for netball, with finals fever well and truly in the air as we stepped onto the court for a high-stakes clash against Echuca.
From the very first whistle, the intensity was on.
The game started as a tight contest, going goal for goal as both teams fought hard to gain an edge.
We managed to grab a couple of crucial turnovers early on, allowing us to take a narrow lead at the first break.
From there, we continued to chip away, edging further in front with each quarter.
While we held the lead for the entire game, it was never comfortable, and the pressure never let up.
Echuca turned up the heat in the second quarter, putting together a strong run that had us on the back foot for a moment.
Their defensive pressure was relentless, and they made us earn every pass and goal.
But to our credit, we settled, regained control, and pushed forward once again to regain momentum.
Bonnie Everett was in fantastic form, proving to be a reliable and mobile target in the goal circle.
Her strong positioning and accuracy under the post gave our attackers confidence.
At the opposite end, Eve Gregor led the defensive unit with poise and control, consistently disrupting Echuca’s play and providing strong support through the transition.
Young gun Emma Parks once again showed why she’s one to watch.
Her work rate, smart decision-making, and impact across the court made her one of our standout performers.

B-grade: Rams 25 def by Echuca 46.
The last game of the season saw B-grade take on Echuca, who sit second on the ladder.
The girls came out strong and determined to finish on a high.
It was a tough, fast-paced match against a quality opponent, but the team never gave up.
There were some brilliant passages of play and plenty of fight right until the final whistle.
With all 10 players rotating through the court, it was a fun and well-rounded way to wrap up the season.
Katie Arandt and Dakota Mitsch stood out with their strong efforts.

C-grade: Rams 25 def by Echuca 43.
A close game to start, but unfortunately lost momentum.
C-grade played their last game for the season with the whole time team present.
Jade Hussey had an outstanding game again this week, getting many hands to balls and turning over the play.
Hilary Porter created some effective play in the mid-court in both centre and wing attack, a speedy attacker that is able to connect both ends of the court nicely.
Maggie McCalman was up against a difficult opponent and worked tirelessly all game to keep the shooter out, while also getting many hands to balls.
The girls have come a long way this year and should be proud of their efforts up against some experienced sides all season.

C-Reserve: Rams 13 def by Echuca 49.
C-Reserve wrapped up the season with a tough match against third-placed Echuca United, going down 49 to 13 to a skilful and well-drilled side.
Despite the scoreline, the girls never gave up and played right through to the final whistle.
Our ever-versatile Carla Crossley once again shone across the court, slotting seamlessly into GK and then flipping down to attack.
Her confidence and ability to adapt to any position made her an invaluable part of the team this year.
Ayla Nganeko-Begg was a dominant presence in GK as always, but when moved into WD she became a key link in transitioning the ball out of defence and added real strength to the mid-court.
Grace McMahon continued her strong form, stepping into centre for a couple of quarters. Her sharp court awareness and ability to provide an option everywhere made her a natural fit in the role.
Overall, it’s been a great season for the C-Reserve girls. While only a couple of wins went their way, the growth in teamwork, confidence, and resilience has been clear each week.
Most importantly, they never wavered, always had each other’s backs, and enjoyed the game no matter the score.

Under-17s: Rams 38 def by Echuca 57.
The Rams under-17s came out a little slowly against ladder leader, Echuca United, on Saturday.
But they soon found some consistency across the court to prove competitive throughout the final three quarters.
Zoe Circuitt combined well with Phoebe Newman in goals, also proving her attacking ability, playing in wing attack for the second half and making a significant impact on the game there.
Shontai O’Callaghan was strong, as always, through the mid-court, and was effective with a swing into goals for the second half.
Our defensive combinations were tested against the Echuca United attackers, but the defenders worked tirelessly all game, coming away with multiple turnovers.
The girls were able to adapt to numerous changes in defence and found consistency and strength through these changes.
The girls all played a great team game and should be proud of their efforts.

Under-15s: Rams 20 def by Echuca 44.
The under-15s wrapped up their season with a determined performance in their final match.
Every player gave their all and demonstrated the growth and resilience developed across the season.
Brydey Maher was a standout in both the mid-court and defence, using her speed and vision to transition the ball with precision while applying consistent pressure to her opponents.
Bella Hillier's strong defensive efforts shut down key players, while in the mid-court she provided calm, reliable options to move the ball forward.
Emma Wettenhall read the play well, disrupting the opposition's attacking flow. She contested every ball and applied relentless pressure.

Under-13s: Rams 1 def by Echuca 31.
The girls wrapped up their season finishing seventh on the ladder, just missing out on finals.
Coming up against strong grand final contenders, they faced a tough match but showed plenty of fight right until the end.
The second half saw some great improvements, with Stella Chadderton and Killarni Macdonald forming an impressive defensive duo that worked hard to keep the pressure on.
Sophie Bliss battled all day against physical opponents, standing strong and earning herself an award for her efforts.
Charlotte Gatacre finished her season with a bang, stepping up to claim the other award with a great performance.
The Captain’s Award went to Zara O’Donnell, who once again showcased her unique flair and determination – doing the things only Zara can do.

Under-11s: Not scored.
In their final game of the season against Echuca, the girls put on a fantastic tussle, showcasing outstanding skill from both sides.
It was a tough hit out right from the first whistle, but our team was determined to match the intensity and rise to the challenge.
The girls played excellent team netball, working hard for each other and demonstrating just how much they’ve grown across the season.
A big thank you to the coach and assistants, whose guidance and encouragement have developed the girls into bright netball stars.
