AFL Goulburn Murray has put out a call for volunteers to strengthen its tribunal pool and fill a secretary position ahead of the 2024 season.
The tribunal, made up of three members including a seasoned chair, handles reported incidents and investigations across several affiliated competitions, including the Goulburn Valley League, Kyabram District League, Goulburn Murray Women and Girls and Goulburn Murray Juniors.
Meetings typically take place on Wednesday evenings at AFL Goulburn Murray's Kialla offices, with some hearings scheduled for other nights.
To be eligible, tribunal members must have no history of holding office with affiliated leagues or clubs in the past two years and a solid understanding of Australian rules football is desirable.
The tribunal follows guidelines set out in the National Community Football Policy Handbook and AFL Victoria Country Rules.
The secretary role involves managing tribunal proceedings, including co-ordinating participants, handling video evidence and facilitating remote appearances.
The position calls for basic computer literacy, with knowledge of video platforms like Webex, Zoom or Teams being beneficial.
Those interested can put their hand up for either the tribunal pool or secretary position through the AFLGM application form, while further details and application information are available through AFL Goulburn Murray.
