Clinical netball in the first quarter saw the Blues shut out the Hoppers at Yarroweyah Recreation Reserve, taking and 18-0 lead into the first break.
The host got onto the board in the second period but Picola United extended its lead to 36 goals by half-time.
From there it was more of the same in the second half as the lead stretched to 44 by the final change before the match ended with a final score of 75-15 Picola United.
Coach Annie Jorgensen was impressed with her side’s intensity throughout the game.
“The girls did a great job of maintaining intensity all match,” she said.
“They didn't back off even when they had the good lead so that was good to see and they really had some great connection down the court and all the things we've been doing on the training track are on display, which was really good.”
The win improves the Blues table position to a respectable seventh as they have garnered two wins and two losses from their four games this campaign.
Jorgensen identified Emma Greaves and shooter Georgia Barnett as key performers in the dominant win.
“Emma Greaves was a standout all game, just her determination, defensive pressure was great,” Jorgensen said.
“I don't think her wing attack got many centre passes at all; actually, she shut them down beautifully.
“Georgia Barnett, our goal shooter, she really got her eye in and was shooting well and had good presence.
“Even though she was getting a bit of physicality toward the end she held up really well and used body well to hold position and get the goal.”
The visit of Katamatite looms as a tough test next Saturday as the Tigers remain perfect, four from four, after defeating Waaia by 11 goals.
“I certainly think that if we get off to a solid start that we can push them all day so I think it'll be a really good contest,” Jorgensen said.
“I think it might actually give us a better idea where we’re at after having a few weeks to settle the team.
“I think now that we've sort of got our team settled, It'll give us a far better indication next weekend of actually where we're sitting amongst the field.”
