Finals teams Mt Pleasant and Huntly had an eventful clash at Strauch Reserve with the Mounts coming out on top 64-40 and retaining their spot in second.
North Bendigo remains on the outside looking in on finals despite getting a scalp over cellar-dweller Heathcote 54-28.
Round 17 will be a Saturday full of intrigue as finals loom with a set of interesting games.
LBU will come up against a North Bendigo team striving for finals, while fifth-placed Huntly will bring the fight to Colbo.
