Lockington-Bamawm United has fallen to last-placed Huntly in a highly contested round 13 Heathcote District league A-grade netball match-up.

The Cats pounced on the Hawks to start the first quarter, bagging 11 goals in the opening term to Huntly’s seven to take a four-goal lead at quarter-time.
LBU continued its dominance in the second term, adding nine goals to its total, while the Hawks managed eight more, trailing the Cats by five at the half.

However, the third quarter saw LBU run out of steam. It still added nine goals to its total, but Huntly had a field day, capitalising with 14 goals to level the scores heading into the final quarter.
The wind was beneath the Hawks’ wings as they piled on 11 goals in the final stretch while the Cats could only scrounge eight more, with Huntly stealing the win away by three in a thrilling final quarter.
The Cats won’t have a chance to lick their wounds as they will travel to Toolleen Recreation Reserve to face seventh-placed Mount Pleasant in round 14.
