Clubs earn funding boost

A number of local sporting clubs are set to receive an injection of funds.

The Victorian Government announced 20 clubs in the Murray Plains electorate are successful recipients in round two of the Sporting Club Grants Program.

The program awards a maximum of $5000 per instance and is broken into four categories.

Up to $1000 was available for uniforms and equipment, and up to $5000 for programs that improve the knowledge and skills of volunteers, coaches and/or officials or improve volunteer retention.

Clubs could also earn $1000 for accessibility, governance and engagement, $4000 for new or modified sport or active recreation programs, and up to $750 was on offer for individuals dealing with overheads after a representative selection.
