A round one classic at Rich River went the way of Echuca, claiming their first Section 1 victory as a merged entity by a narrow three games, 7-72 to 6-69.
Elsewhere in Section 1, LBU 1 opened their account with a strong 26-game win over Elmore 1, while Echuca 2 and Echuca 3 made it a clean sweep for the club, victorious over LBU and Rochester.
