Locals and travelling spectators will end a chocolate-filled day with an eight-race card, as well as plenty of additional on and off-track action.
“It's our second-biggest meeting of the year and it's normally a meeting that's well patronised,” president Shane Gloury said.
“We have good racing and plenty of entertainment for the whole family on track.”
After several years, the club’s grandstand was partially reopened to spectators for the new year's meeting, and about a third of the facility remains open for the Easter meet.
Billed as a family event, the Easter Cup will entertain punters of all ages.
“In recent years we've had an Easter egg hunt for the kids, so the kids who are on course, take home some Easter eggs, which are obviously very well received,’’ Gloury said.
“We've got a jumping castle on course, a petting zoo for the kids, pony trots, so plenty of activities.”
Gloury also teased some “roving T-Rexes” have been spotted in the area, which will be sure to send kids scattering.
The eight-race program begins at 4.59pm with the eponymous race, the Byford Equipment Easter Cup over 1755m.
The last race is scheduled for 9.04pm.
“It's free entry on Sunday,” Gloury said.
“We understand at the moment there's cost of living pressures that are biting, fuel prices going up and interest rates going up.
“It doesn't cost anyone who’s in the area to come down on Sunday to have an enjoyable night out at the trots.”
The Easter Cup concludes the 2025-26 harness season at Echuca, with the 2026-27 schedule not yet announced.
Gates open at the Frank Ryan Raceway on Simmie St, Echuca from 4pm.
